Inspired by the legendary run of frontiersman John Colter, The Escape is a 9-inch Primitive Drop Point built from one of our favorite all-around patterns—the Weatherford Hunter—and taken back toward the frontier.

Its versatile 1095 high-carbon tool steel blade is fitted with richly figured antique white oak scales, Old Glory red, white & blue liners, brass hardware, and a patriotic mosaic pin.

Simple, rugged and made to keep close when things go sideways, The Escape comes complete with a hand-stitched top-grain leather sheath, handmade by Lonnie Hyatt.

Because if John Colter taught us anything, it’s that when you suddenly need a knife, you really don’t want yours sitting somewhere else.
